Exploring Physics: [3rd-5th graders] 

This course is designed for elementary students who are eager to explore into the field of Science. Matter, energy, light, water, magnetism, gravity, heat, circuits, sound … physics surrounds us. The goal of this fun class is to get K3-5 kids to dabble with hands-on projects related to simple concepts of physics, encouraging them to observe, think, question and experiment as they get familiar with the physics behind things we encounter daily. Advanced Physics: [7th grade and above]

This advanced course is for those who is getting ready for acing AP Physics in high school. Minimum grade level requirement is 8th. AP Physics 1 is an algebra-based, introductory, college-level physics course. It explores Newtonian mechanics (including rotational motion), work, energy, power, mechanical waves and sound, and circuits – in other words, fundamental physics concepts. AP Physics 2 is an algebra-based, introductory college-level physics course that explores topics such as fluid statics and dynamics; thermodynamics with kinetic theory; PV diagrams and probability; electrostatics; electrical circuits with capacitors; magnetic fields; electromagnetism; physical and geometric optics; and quantum, atomic, and nuclear physics. Math Enrichment:

Our programs are designed to challenge students by building a strong math foundation through creative problem solving. Our curriculum is developed based on Art of Problem Solving © and Singapore Math © curriculums and in alignment with Common Core standard. We blend challenging word problems from several internationally recognized competitions in our class work as a mechanism to build strong thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Our curriculum is consistently above student’s current grade. We strongly believe, with proper foundation, every student has the potential to do better in math.

 

Primary Problem Solver: [KG-3 Graders]

Primary Problem Solver course is targeted for students of grade levels KG to 3. Basic understanding of numbers, simple additions, and subtraction is a prerequisite for this course. Primary Problem Solver course focuses on developing strong analytical and logical thinking. Students will be introduced to several problem-solving tools and practices, and will meticulously practice to become experts in those tools and techniques. Elementary Problem Solver: [4-5 Graders]

Elementary Problem Solver is designed for students of grade levels 4 to 5. A prerequisite for this course is strong knowledge of basic arithmetic operations and skills to translate word problems into expressions. Elementary Problem Solver course focusing on developing skill sets to excel in advanced problem-solving techniques. Middle School Problem Solver course is designed for students of grade levels 6. A prerequisite for this course is strong knowledge of basic problem-solving techniques and proven skills to solve word problems. Middle School Problem Solver course focuses on developing skill sets to excel in advanced problem-solving techniques. Algebra: [For Middle Schooler who are At Algebra 1 Level]

This advanced course is for those who have completed Middle School Problem Solver course and are in grade levels 7 to 9.  An assessment is mandatory to qualify. This Algebra course focuses on developing skill sets to excel in solving problems in Algebra at Level I. Students will learn to solve Linear equation with one or more variables, Functions, Exponents, Radicals, Ratios, Percent, Proportion, Work, Distance, Slope interception forms, Graphing, Solving Inequalities, Solving Quadratic Equation, and Factorization. Geometry: [For Middle Schooler who are At Geometry Level]

This advanced course is for those who have completed middle school problem solver course and are in grade levels 7 to 9.  An assessment is mandatory to qualify. Geometry builds upon students’ command of geometric relationships and formulating mathematical arguments. Students will be developing the skills they need to break down complex challenges and solve them independently. Course topics include reasoning, proof, and the creation of sound mathematical arguments; points, lines, and angles; triangles and trigonometry; quadrilaterals and other polygons; circles; congruence, similarity, transformations, and constructions; coordinate geometry; three-dimensional solids.More details on the course available here.

PreCalculus: [High School]

This advanced course is for those who have completed Algebra 1 and 2 and Geometry and getting ready for acing Precalculus at high school. An assessment is mandatory to qualify.Precalculus is a course that combines reviews of algebra, geometry, and functions into a preparatory course for calculus. Programming with Scratch: [Kg-4 Graders]

This course is designed to help students jump-start their interest in programming. The curriculum will not only stress upon the technicalities of computing, but will also draw upon their imagination, creativity, and interests to bring animated characters to life through an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. Programming in Python: [5-8 Graders]

An Introduction to Python is for everyone who can understand simple instructions and use it to build up a program. This course goes over the basics and allows students to get familiar with the python environment. The best way to grab their attention for this program is by making a computer version of their favorite board game. This course is for students in high and middle school, who aspire to take a leap forward into the world of Programming and get ready to take AP Computer Science in high school. We introduce Java for everyone who can understand simple instructions and use it to build up a program. We would like to assume that the children have some previous coding experience in order to fully benefit from this course. We will take them through the Introduction to Programming, Problem Solving, Concepts of Machine Language, Introduction to Java, Variables, Math, Data Types, Operators, Conditional Statements, Loops, Data Structures, String and other libraries and recursion. Robotics Engineering and Design

 

 

Robotics 101 & 102: [KG-3 graders]

The course is designed to suit children of primary grade levels who want to lay a solid foundation in Robotics design and programming. This course serves as a launch pad for children into the world of Robotics through WeDo 2.0 tool kit. Students will learn building and programming while having most fun with hands-on designing and building activities, which is the best way for them to retain new information over a prolonged period. Students will work on designing mechanical layouts as they construct and deconstruct their model, investigating parts such as screws, hooks, gears, and other machine parts and their applicability, computing simple addition and subtraction problems to modify the model to accomplish the project. Robotics 201 & 202: [4-8 graders]

This course introduces students to Lego EV3 Mindstorms hardware and software programming. They will explore the Lego EV3 kit, learn to program their robot with the EV3 Mindstorms Programming Studio, and work on making the abstract tangible.Students will design, build, and test robots that can perform tasks as complex and as creative as their minds can possibly get. Advanced technical components will be used to find effective solutions to real world problems dealing with energy, pneumatics, machines, etc. More details on the course available here.

Specialized Coaching

 

 

Gifted Prep: [KG-2nd Grade]

The course is designed to suit children of primary grade levels who want to do well in the advanced placement test conducted by school district. Gifted program screening tests are yardsticks which can affect a child’s placement in school. Students who challenge themselves and can work independently with little direction should consider their school district’s gifted program. We provide enrichment classes and test preparation to help your child do the best they can in these important assessments. Please reach out to us for more details.

 

After School Enrichment:

Our goal is to provide a safe environment and motivates students to reach his or her full potential through our STEM enrichment programs. Often homework tends to be a stressful factor for both children and parents. On arrival, all students will be working on their homework / school project. We will help children with their homework and any school projects. If a student does not have homework they will have other academic activities to do, including reading. After homework time student may continue to study or participate in STEM enrichment activities.
